What is a Cavapoo?

A Cavapoo (sometimes called Cavoodle) is a cross between the affectionate  laidback Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the intelligent, trainable Miniature (or Toy) Poodle. Breeding two toy breeds together ensures a consistently small size. Our cavapoos will be around 15-20 lbs full grown.

Why Cavapoos? Our goal at Red Paw Farm is to produce the ultimate family dogs that can perform equally well as gentle companions for children or certified therapy dogs. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has long been considered one of the most kid-friendly toy breeds around. The CKCS is described as "delightfully affectionate" (CKCS Club) and very flexible when it comes to energy and activity level--"they can be upbeat athletes or shameless couch potatoes, depending on an owner’s lifestyle" (akc.org). Less high strung than most smaller breeds, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a gentle, cheerful dog known for its friendliness. Adding the miniature poodle's intelligence, charm, and non-shedding coat creates the perfect breed for families looking for a smaller, generally easygoing and calmer doodle.
